A Yule log is a very hard log that is burned in a hearth for Chrismas in many European cultures. But in northeast England it was commonly called a Yule Clog. The Yule log is also associated with the Winter Soltice festival or the Twelve Days of Christmas, Christmas Eve, Christmas Day, or Twelfth Night.
